Rainbow Options I and Rainbow Options II
Rainbow Options was added to our family in July 1996 to expand our services to include Day Habilitation programming for adults with disabilities who have no vocational options after their school years and do not qualify for supported employment or sheltered workshops.
Providing quality of life for adults with disabilities is a high priority. The philosophy is patterned after the Rainbow Center under the direction of Marilu W. Herrick, Executive Director. The program features a small staff/client ratio and a variety of interactive activities that the clients are involved in each day ranging from Health/Fitness, Creative Expressions, Home Living, Recreational and Leisure to Community Access.
We are extremely proud of Brian, our first client. Brian has made significant strides in accessing his world. Brian was 25 when the program began. He had been without any programming options since he finished school four years earlier. He was unable to tolerate outsiders interfering in his activities. With one-on-one assistance, Brian is now able to participate in a variety of volunteer projects in the community and occasionally will even participate in a group volunteer project.
Learning appropriate social and community skills enables our young adults to better enjoy their world!
