The Rainbow Center for Communicative Disorders, founded in 1976 and incorporated as a not-for-profit organization in 1977, was established for those with developmental disabilities who needed a more intensive therapy program within an academic environment.

Beginning with three children, the day school now benefits 66 children with Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and/or other communication and/or behavioral disorders.

In July 1996, the Rainbow Center expanded to include day habilitation programming for adults with disabilities too severe to function within a supported employment or sheltered workshop setting. Day Habilitation for adults over age 21 is known as Rainbow Options and currently serves 50 adult clients.

The staff at Rainbow Center for Communicative Disorders loves the opportunity to meet the needs of children and adults that require an individualized learning environment. Providing a positive and gentle culture is a priority for the experienced and well qualified staff. We have been in the business of reducing frustration, expanding skills and increasing communication for many individuals that have been served over the last 34 years. Parents frequently share with us the happy and heart touching stories about the positive impact that Rainbow is having on their son/daughter.
