In 1977, the Rainbow Center opened it's doors, offering assistance to children with developmental disabilities in our community.
Planning of this facility began in 1976 and we became an "incorporated, not-for-profit" organization in 1977.
Initially established to assist those developmentally disabled who needed a more intensive therapy program within an academic environment, we commenced operations with only three children.
In July 1996, the Rainbow Center expanded it's program to include adults with disabilities too severe to function within a supported employment or sheltered workshop setting.
Today, the Center provides services for over 120 clients with Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and/or other communication and/or behavioral disorders.
